Location, excellent service, over the top decor makes a stay very interesting, nice breakfast

The Queen hotel was within walking distance to the train station and attractions. A couple of the receptionists were excellent. We had a problem with lighting in the bathroom of both rooms we were in and was told it would get taken care of but it wasn’t. The bathroom mirrors need to be resolved or fixed.

we didn't get the room we booked when we were moved to a room with a sofa bed it was so uncomfortable my Daughter could not sleep on it ....... we waited such a long time to get our room changed and then it was by the door in the corridor which banged every time someone went through it -which was often-it was not a good experience as we did not sleep-no one was interested

Staff so helpful, free upgrade was much appreciated, bottled water in room was also a nice treat. Room very clean and quiet, food service in bar excellent. Would definitely recommend. So convenient for train, bus and taxi service.

The bathroom. The mold was the worst that I have ever seen in my travels. Had to ask for cleaning service even though they said the did it every day. The mold was never cleaned.

Every spots around lobby & lounge was so comfy & nice ambience
One of their staff at front desk was rude to my daughter & never friendly to us since our 1st day
I spent 7 days there & the bfast buffet never change the menu
The housekeeping seems to do their job in our room always in a rush,our room was still dirty especially on the bathroom

Proximity to the train station and city center.
Staff was incredibly rude and unwilling to help. The fire alarm went off both mornings at 6 am. The staff didn’t seem to care and indicated that it happens regularly. Our kids woke up and would not go back to sleep out of fear the place was going to burn down. When we tried to address it with the woman working the front desk, she didn’t care, said the system was working as it is supposed to, and did not even apologize.

Public spaces in the hotel are very generous and welcoming. Staff were excellent. Location is very good, about 15-20 mins walk to the centre of Chester. Room was OK and bathroom was very clean, with daily renewal of towels etc. Adjacent parking is convenient and not too expensive.
The old part of the hotel is a little tired in places, but maybe that is to be expected. The breakfast room has an institutional feel to it; maybe it could be broken up with some planters etc. to make it a bit more cosy.

Fantastic location as arrived by train. Food in the restaurant was excellent as were the staff throughout the hotel.
The self service breakfast, particularly the cooked elements I felt had been sitting a while. e.g. Hash browns and mushrooms very dry.
