Pleasant
Staff lovely and nicely decorated in main areas
Bathroom was dated and no blind in bathroom window onto the street , tho glass was frosted. Also window ha led on to main road and pavement with people walking past. Windows not glazed for fairly noisy.and noisy fire door.

Very Good
The Queen is a lovely, Victorian hotel with attractive general areas - reception, lounge and bar etc. Members of staff were all friendly and welcoming.
Some areas are a little tired but this didn’t detract from the overall experience.

Location by station and taxis, bed huge and comfy, deluxe double room very lush, quick friendly check in, gardens, restaurant reasonable, good food, crisps chocolate and water in room nice touch, large tv on wall ahead of the bed, nice products for shower and robes and slippers.
Maybe a coffee machine provided for the deluxe room. Sparkling water instead of still. A little difficult to reach the mirror close up due to sink being in the way but these only minute picky details

Perfect location to the city centre and train station. Hotel staff were wonderful and on the ball. Really like the easy check in and the hotel grounds where lovely to walk round. I booked a classic double room and really like the feature of the upgrade system, bidding for your room. Which i got a deluxe room and the views were fantastic of chester and Wales.
Nothing to add

Poor
Nice decor
Staff were friendly enough
Interesting building which has been thoughtfully decorated to keep the character of the building but not dated or shabby
The car park isn't owned by the hotel but thought I'd mention that I have a normal car which is fairly small, and I struggled to park, I had to climb over and get out of the passenger side because the spaces are so tiny. Even though all the cars around me were in the lines.
I stayed in room 1404 and this rooms door (alongside 3 others) is so close to the corridor doors, I woke on several occasions thinking someone had opened our room door because it was so loud with the other guests moving around.
Had a really poor night's sleep because of this, aswell as the incident below,
At 1am I awoke hearing dripping water. I thought the shower must be dripping then realised it was very loud. Got out of bed and there was water pouring out of one of the light fixtures above the bath.
I immediately put on some day clothing and tried to use the in room phone to call reception but none of the labelled buttons called reception, they all said "this is unassigned"
Tried the mobile number for "guest services" I had been given, just rung out
Tried calling the hotel number from Google. Closed.
By this point the leak had stopped and I was so tired I got back in bed. I was just very grateful it was above the bath and not onto the flooring! Basically the equivalent of a tap running fully for about 5-7 minutes.
I informed the receptionist in the morning what had happened and got a quick apology.
I was a bit annoyed as I wasn't offered any sort of compensation for my night being ruined and not being able to contact anyone at reception for help. I had barely any sleep and would definitely not return.
