Very Good
We enjoyed our stay at The Queen. Our suite was bigger than we expected and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had complimentary Prosecco and truffles which was extremely generous
For the price I paid I think it was a bit more expensive for what the suite was. I am not writing this to cause issues, just to make them aware. We noticed wall paper peeling in the bedroom and some of the surfaces were dusty

Wonderful
We stayed in a standard double room which had plenty of space and sunlight. The bathroom was a considerable size with a window, and a larger dresser. We chose this hotel has it was directly opposite the train station which we greatly appreciated after coming back from the top of Snowdon. The bathtub was also greatly appreciated after the hike. The hotel interior was lovely and it was a pity I didn't have time to look at all the art work. Just a short walk to the city centre.
An un-made cup of coffee was next to the kettle when we arrived in the room. Apart from that, it seemed that everything else was clean and tidy. I went to reception downstairs to ask for a spare cup and the concierge kindly gave us two clean cups.

The hotel was very comfortable, clean and well maintained. The staff were efficient and courteous and facilities to a high standard
Breakfast not included and was quite pricey so we ate at the establishment across the road.

Pleasant
Bed uncomfortable - headboard made a loud squeaking noise whenever you moved on the bed
Didn't like the fact a pair of someone elses dirty eocks were left on the floor of the room. Not great hygiene standards or cleaning standards.

Poor
Location was ok, not too far from the centre at about a 15 minute walk.
Although situated right next to the railway station it was quite.
Bed was comfortable.
The room in general was ok but the bathroom was appalling. The basin had a massive crack in it, the bath leaked onto the floor, there were loose tiles and panels coming away from the walls and the overflow was broken and dislodged.
Had to leave the windows open as the aircon didn't work.
There was a TV in the bathroom for watching TV in the bath, which we thought was a bonus - but it didn't work as the wifi signal in the hotel is not good enough to keep the picture from constantly freezing or disappearing altogether - if it doesn't work, why have it there ??
The staff weren't very helpful, with the exception of some of the breakfast staff who were great.
I was stood waiting to talk to a member of the reception staff for over 10 minutes and being completely ignored.
I assumed they were busy as they were typing away at a monitor, until a colleague turned up and they stopped what they were doing to chat with them - so not too busy to attend to them!
On checkout I asked to speak to a manager to discuss our disappointment with our stay but was told none were on site, on a Saturday morning!
I was assured that someone from management would contact me - needless to say no contact was ever received so they obviously don't really care about their clients experience of staying with them.
Based on experience I think the parking charges are excessive.
Its an extra revenue stream so it's understandable, but could be discounted more fairly for residents.
Taking our whole experience into account I would not recommend this hotel to friends and family when visiting Chester.

Very Good
The location was quite handy for the city centre. The breakfast buffet was really good with plenty of choice. The staff who greeted me and the bar staff were friendly
The room was a little tired with torn carpet and peeling wallpaper. The main areas of the bathroom were clean but there were areas where there was settled dust that obviously wasn't cleaned after the last occupant. Some of the breakfast staff could have been more attentive, particularly those bringing round tea and coffee. On my first morning I had to ask for a refill and on another morning I had to ask for tea after being seated for quite a while. However, as a lone, female traveller, I often find that I am ignored especially by female staff.

clean and quite hotel, location very near to the railway station, easy to move around using train and short distance to city center
the spring of the bed has weakened at one side, made the side was sinked. We told the front office staff with the situation, one day before we left, but they didn't manage to replace it
